Take pictures - pics of the MIC if you got it. Ask to see the inspection report - I would level work now and see what the engineer is up to. Obviously, check o see that you will be able to pick it up today.
I did ask my salesman to take pictures. I am about 45 minutes away at work. Also it is a 4 door soft top Badlands, Sasquatch, 2.7l, with tow and LUX.

read the post. He said an engineer has to inspect the vehicle. Not a wash boy pulling the plastic off and checking the fluids.
It's likely the dealer is just referring to the PDI process which a tech also looks over the car as part of it not just the wash boy. Ford isn't flying engineers out to the dealership to look at Broncos pre-delivery. At least not yet...

Congrats! Did your tracker ever change? Or was this sort of out of the blue?
Tracker still says "In Transit". It wasn't completely out of the blue though. I found out from from the dealer that even though the sticker says convoy, it was on a rail car headed down to STL, then convoy from there. So I had the rail car number, and I was calling Norfolk southern tracing line "several" times a day. So I knew when the rail car had arrived down here. Then when I checked palsapp.com this morning I saw the shipping information had populated, and about an hour later said it had been dispatched. So I knew it was on it's way.

No this is a Ford engineer that is in the area, not an employee of the dealership. I spoke with him briefly at a car show at the dealer over the weekend. He said he is supposed to inspect it even before the dealer does PDI.

They donā€™t have to fly them in. Each zone has an engineer. I thought it was PDI initially also. Iā€™m not sure why they would refer to a tech or porter as an engineer.

Brings back uncomfortable memories from boot camp.
A buddy of mine was in the Marines and told us stories of the 'nuts to butts' at boot camp. Is this what you're referring to?:censored:

That's very interesting. I'll be curious as to what they might find wrong with it.

Congrats, iā€™m really not sure why an engineer has to inspect it? It shouldnā€™t of left the factory if there were any concerns. I definitely get some answers if I were you.
Fancy name for the service manager?

I usually call them (service managers) dick heads. Op confirmed itā€™s an actual engineer coming to inspect his bronco. It sat at map for quite a while before it made the short trip to Illinois. Iā€™m thinking thereā€™s an issue with something on them. I hope he gives us updates.

Just got a call from my Ford dealer that my Bronco is being delivered today! Blend was 6/22, built 6/23, and should be able to pick it up today! They are saying they are being required to have a Ford service engineer inspect it first though.

And Just got another call that the truck made it to the Ford dealer!!

Do I wait for this Ford engineer to do his inspection, or do I leave work now?
What was your estimated delivery date? Mine is in transit and want to see how the actual delivery fares against estimates. Congrats!

Leave now. Stand very close behind him... like uncomfortably close.
And make occasional very faint bird sounds while sniffing in his/her direction.

Either you will make a new, odd friend or they will hurry up the process that much faster.
