Good Evening, I just ordered a 4 door bronco badlands and I just realized I have no idea what my fenders are made out of.
For the amount of money I’m paying for this vehicle I’d be a little upset to find out the fenders are plastic..
Does anyone have any insight into the fender material? Jeeps of the same price range come with painted fenders and I’m hoping the same will be the case for the bronco.
Thanks!

Fender flares (expect OBX) are raw plastic. It’s superior to painted plastic. 😎

Thank you I thought so. I just worry the flares are gonna fade and raw plastic flares just look kinda cheap

You can possibly wrap them for protection (though if the surface is rough or pebbled like the roof that will not work), or use some cleaning products to restore them, or replace them quite easily if all else fails. But if I catch you swapping mine for yours, then you'll need new fingers too... 😜

Yeah I’m thinking I’ll end up painting them

Well, I can bet you that there are going to be some OB owners who DO NOT want to have the matched painted fender flares and would gladly work out an exchange - I'm betting you can find them in your color. Unless you get a green Cactus vs a Cactus gray. ;)

Fenders are plastic. They’re modular....Bronco expensive? Definitely! But you SHALL pay for any vehicle that looks good. They’d what you pay for now. Aesthetics. That’s why a shoebox is cheap and yet any vehicles that look good you pay through the nose even with a turbo 4cyl. Ridiculous. But that’s the age we’re in and it’ll never change.

If memory serves me correctly, the front fenders are aluminum and the rear quarter panels are steel.

I've been using tire shine on raw plastic for years now and you'll be surprised how well the plastic holds up. Keeps them looking new.

RIT Dye FTW...

If it works on polymer gun furniture it'll work on fender flares

Real Fenders are made of wood...and painted.
