If you feel that you need more training to drive safely, you could always get it on your own, it doesn’t need to be mandatory.
Good idea! Let's implement that with pilots too.

That’s cute, it’s almost as if one is more difficult than the other. Regardless, no amount of safety training will overcome the laziness that prevents someone checking their mirrors.

I've been driving for over 30 years, have never been in an accident caused by me not seeing someone next to me.... And yet I absolutely love blis, and forward sensing tech. Am I capable of driving without it? Of course I am. But just because I like the additional safety catch does not Make me a bad, or inattentive driver.

I am blown away that Ford's blis does not make any noise. It seems like it's always beeping at you for darn near about everything... But when it counts you're telling me it just lights up a little signal on the mirror? That's just stupid.

My Mazda lights up the mirror, lights up the HUD, and beeps. That car was $25k

While no HUD, our daughter's 2018 Hyundai Elantra has all the safety tech including the blind spot monitoring with sound. MSRP 20K, we paid 16.6K out the door. (Oh the good old days of getting deals.)
