Electric hoist and some nylon straps. Of course the garage requires a rather high ceiling. Under $225. Less if one purchases a lighter load hoist. After all the top isn’t heavy.

While it's probably overkill for some, I can definitely see benefits in a powered hoist system. This product is probably a god-send for anyone with a physical limitation, or people like me who are firmly in the "will pay extra for convenience" camp.

I went a cheaper route. Less than $200 including a couple straps that hook into slots on the side of the HT

Exactly. Some of us have no problem paying $4-7k extra to get a superfluous luxury/convenience package for cosplay at the drive through and mall, but scoff at a guy paying $1K for something that will save him time and make him happy for 8 months every year.

What system did you use? The price sounds right too me.

I bought a Harken system about a year and a half ago. It's gone up in price since then, unfortunately.

The lumber was repurposed from another project and I got my own straps from the Army Surplus that fit perfectly for $5 a pair. When I bought the pulley system it was $129.
