If it happened with stamping equipment, then it didn't happen at MAP. MAP is where assembly happens, not stamping.

I don't know the inner workings of their stamping, but considering the volumes and variety of parts produced, I would be shocked if only one machine could handle any particular part. I can't imagine having to shutdown the entire production of a vehicle because one machine producing one part broke.
We have Stamping at MAP, but it did not happen here.

I was in Detroit when the Rouge plant suffered a boiler explosion. Ford tapped key contractors and key people with those contractors to come help. We had two guys leave our construction site and they worked night and day until they had a temporary boiler plant up and running. We didn't see them for a couple of weeks and they came back tired. I knew they were quality folks when I worked with them, but Ford pulling specifically them reinforced my impression.

I agree that a manufacturer will pull out all the stops to keep a plant running. Can't afford not to.

Id prefer them to get to a root cause of the issue and address it. Wouldn't want an employee to die just so you can get your bronco a day earlier lmao
