That's kind of the point of a spare tire.... I'm not sure why the owner couldn't have just driven out themselves.
Most likely did not have a jack to handle the change, or the tools? The Jack that comes with our Bronco's are stressed on a concrete flat surface, let alone sand.

A good lesson to always test your equipment in the conditions in which they will be used BEFORE you actually need it.

I think they went to be checked out? They didn't need the spare, just needed air.

That poor bronco... The headlights had a sad look to them going up on the rollback, as opposed to the angry Jeep look. It needs some love.

Sucks to see forsure. At least it has thinking about a spare gas can mount. Any recommendations for a good mount?

So weird that the owner wouldn’t even try to crank, even more if they didn’t have a compressor out there on that trail.

Recoveries are so expensive that being able to drive at least to the trailhead for a simple tow would save hundreds.

Also not sure why anyone thinks this is totaled. If mostly cosmetic and some suspension parts, may not be so bad; would take a while, but that Bronco may be saved.

PSA, be extra careful (slow) on shelf roads or going up or coming down a tiered rock wall. Spotters are highly recommended when things may get tippy and if you’re on a tippy line, back up and slide over a bit.

In many cases, blown airbags = totalled. Cost comes into play too. Looks like most of the sheetmetal is damaged.

I agree on the spotter, sadly most of them aren't any more skilled than the drivers. I cannot count the number of times I've witnessed disasters WITH a spotter. I gave up on using a spotter years ago...like, 15 years ago :)
