I am going to attempt to knock some of this out today. I spent yesterday evening watching the Youtube Installation video. Some of the work can be done ahead of time. My garage is small and I don't have a lot of space to lay things out so I am going to assemble what I can inside and then hopefully minimize the install in the garage.
Definitely watch the install video and if you have the soft top watch the separate, much shorter install video.

I was blown away at the package for the slipstream. In the day and age of “ throw it in a box” Diabolical Inc went above and beyond with this.

Quality product through and through. Very impressed.

100% agree on the packaging. I’ll have a detailed write up coming this weekend.

Everything is wrapped and everything is labeled!

So I was able to install my Slipstream Security Enclosure yesterday and I can say that it is a quality product.

I had an issue with the bolts and the multi-bend brackets connecting to the lower cross wall, called them up & Allen walked me through it no problem. Was back installing it right away.

Here are some pics of the install on my hardtop so you can get idea of what it looks like…

I had one other issue, but I don’t know if it was because of my installation or something else maybe with the dimensions of my storage area, but I had a really hard time inserting the pins inside the enclosure to hold down the top. The holes didn’t line up and I had to really pull down & clamp the top down to insert them. Here is what I’m talking about…

The hard rubber strip to pad the top from rubbing metal on metal seemed to be too thick…

Like I said, it may be something I did during installation, but I was able to remedy it myself by replacing the hard rubber strip with this doorway water seal rubber stripping so that there was some give, yet still held the top & pins in place…

So in case anyone else runs into this problem, this worked for me. Maybe not the intended application, but has worked for me & there is no rattle or slippage by the top.

Was hoping to get some pics with the top off, but there was a forecast of possible rain today so maybe next time.

I hope this helps to visualize what the end product may look like on your Bronco and that the install is not that difficult. It does take some time, but the installation videos really help with some tricks & tips to help you along. Overall, looks to be a really solid product & I am really happy with it so far. Good luck with yours & enjoy!đź‘Ť

I had the exact same issues. Alan helped me with both as well. Drove a bit today with it and sounds like I need to adjust some areas to eliminate a slight rattle. I’ll have to take your advice and look into that weather strip. I am unable to bolt the ones closest to the tailgate at the moment but I might need to tweak it slightly to try and line the holes up better.

You can find the weather stripping at Home Depot. That’s where I got it.

Check out Mabett on this forum and their back seat cover for the carpeted area. May need that in your future with that cute pup!

@Badbrad do you have a soft top? Did the release handles clear the tail end of the slipstream? I have the IAG EZ lift, which pushes the soft top higher than the prop rod…yet when trying to close the slipstream with the soft top open, it will not clear the release handles…

@CKXVII so.. long story longer I haven’t finished the install yet.. The passenger side multibend bracket wasn’t lining up so Alan promptly sent one FedEx overnight to me. It arrived safe and sound and then for the 1st time in the 20 years I’ve owned my house, it was stolen off the porch in broad daylight. Fortunately the douche who stole it was stupid enough to use a car registered to him. Don’t know if LE found the bracket yet tho.. Alan has sent me another replacement bracket.
I do have a soft top and also have the IAG EZ lift so, I’ll let you know.

If anyone has tips/photos on the install parts that were tricky, maybe that would be useful to post? My order hasn't shipped yet and I'm looking forward to it. I'm just mediocre at this kind of thing so I'll assume I'll make mistakes on the areas that require more finesse/intuition.

Installed the enclosure on my Bronco with the Bestop Trektop soft-top. Worked out great, just a minor tweak to the install is all that is needed. Follow the directions for the hard-top install with this one minor tweak. When you install the rear bracket, you need to remove the Bestop rear corner brackets and place the Slipstream rear bracket behind the soft-top bracket as pictured. It only requires removing three bolts and lifting the Bestop bracket up so you can put the Slipstream bracket behind it. Otherwise the rear Slipstream lid will not have the clearance to close (the sides will be pushed in too far). The soft top and Slipstream then work perfectly.

Also installed some foam decking similar to that offered by Diabolical. While I'm sure the branded foam offered by Diabolical is very nice and requires no trimming or fitting, this stuff is nearly identical and costs less than $50 at Amazon, saving over $250 for about 10 minutes of trimming and install time.

EVA Foam Decking

Comes in many colors and is a great product. I work on boats all summer and have used it many times. It has been in the summer sun on one of our boats for the past two seasons and is holding up great. If the price point at Diabolical was $100-$125 I might have been in but $300 I just couldn't justify on top of the original $1200.
