Got the opportunity to park my XJ next to a 4dr BaseSquatch. I only have a 2" lift and 29" tires which explains much of the height difference. But the Bronco is much wider across the front end (using my outstretched arms test), hood is higher, and the 4dr is longer.
I have a 2dt BaseSquatch on order, length should be comparable to an XJ.

The front ends are lined up, so this shows the length difference.

This OB looks more comparable to the XJ sizewise. Bronco sure looks bloated compared to the slim and trim XJ.

XJ vs Bronco.
Bronco's much Bigger both longer & wider, which is not always a good thing on tight trails. Also Heavier but has more power. Stronger Drive train in stock form. Reliability TBD.
Body on frame should help eliminate the following XJ issues depending on how hard you wheel it the unibody starts to crack in the windshield pillars the lift gate has develops alignment issues & cracks on the body in the upper corners. If you have not re-enforced the steering box mount it will break, CPS sensors fail regularly & can be fun to change out (against the firewall) 4.0 motors suffer a lot of blow by. Low on power

I still miss my 93XJ& the adventures it took me on

ty in XJ's in my experience is 1.) garbage Chrysler electronics and 2.) weak cooli
My experience as well. My 94 was always overheating, even after we installed an oversize radiator, and the electronics were trash.

Most of my reliability issues were with switches and sensors. Got stuck because of the stupid $300 neutral safety switch a couple times.
