Jeep 392 starts at $75k. There's your benchmark.
Unless Ford has some tricks up its sleeve related to the motor, I don't see how anyone would choose the Bronco "Warthog" over a 392 Wrangler. If it was more affordable, I'd be all over that 392 Wrangler. As others has said, doesn't make sense to have a Wildtrak and a Warthog especially if its just a 2.7TT to a 3.0TT. That 392 in the Wrangler is glorious.

LOL!.

I bet the Warthog will outsell the 392 BUT time will tell.

I'm guessing they’ll tweak the 3.5 up around 500hp to make it competitive.

Not sure what was "LOL" about my comment but sure. Neither you or I have no idea how they will both sell but sharing my opinion on the Warthog vs the Wrangler 392 since the inevitable unnecessary comparison always comes up.

Thought the Warthog was getting a 3.0TT? Either way, there's a big difference IMO in a cranked up tune pushing more boost vs a completely different V8 such as what's in the 392 Wrangler.

Not likely as the 3.5 HO (high output) on the 2021 raptor remained unchanged at 450HP and 510 ft-lb.

if anyone wants the 392 they should just get one.

95%+ of us who own (eventually) a "regular" Bronco won't use them to their capabilities
This is one of those things that gets repeated so often that no one even thinks about the words anymore, we all just accept as truth because it’s been repeated so much.

Out here in California, many, many people go out to the desert regularly and use every bit of their trucks’ capability.

Yeah West Coast off roading isn't slow trails and mud, though you can find them. You have Nevada and Mexico for high speed trails that can handle a full size truck, so width isn't an issue. The selling feature of the Bronco Raptor is the suspension, it will be able to handle whoops off the show room floor since F150 Raptors can currently.

You don't see Jeeps very often doing high speed desert, they live on the Rubicon and Sierra Trail mainly.

This is just your regular reminder that the 3.0 is a much beefier engine than the 3.5 and the one we want in the Bronco.

agreed! Does anyone buy a supercar and actually drive it over 200mph?
Of course not, but those supercar owners can enjoy the benefits of a well-designed suspension, ample power, and brilliant brakes at every onramp, curvy road, lane change, and stoplight - the places 99% of people spend 99% of their time driving. An offroad vehicle excels where 10% of people spend 5% of their time driving. It's not equivalent.

I get it. It is not about going 200mph but the ability to do so.

Still two years before the Raptor comes out, right?

what are you talking about Willis? Deliveries have started for the GEN3 Raptor. I have a build date of 9/7 for my 2021 Raptor

I think the Warthog will be a 2023 model but available in the fall of 2022. I waited this long for the Bronco so I think I should just wait for the Warthog.

Uh, Bronco Raptor/Warthog.
