Cactus Gray IS Green!

I wonder if Ford actually has an QC issue with the amount of green in CG. If it really is only supposed to be a hint of green and some batches have more and some less, that could easily account for all the variation that people are seeing across different vehicles(ranger/BS), times, and locations.

Some processes are just very sensitive to very slight variations and it wouldn't surprise me if this was one of those scenarios.

That being said, I'm a photographer and have worked with graphics quite a bit, so I know color pretty well. There are so many variables that affect how colors in an image appears to a person, that you can't really say one way or another how it is going to look to someone else.
When I went in to place my order, the CG ranger that I saw at the dealer looked light gray with a hint of green to me on a mostly cloudy day.

I actually like the Cactus Grey, even with that bit of green tint. But, I have a Sting Grey Wrangler now (no green tint), and want to change it up on the Bronco.

I’ve never been in the white HT camp til I decided on cactus grey as my color choice.

So I took some photos on my phone in raw, used lightroom to balance against the snow, and the used the color picker tool to sample a few different points. I didn't grab the horizontal surfaces because they reflect so much of the blue in the sky.

The circled point is where I had the cursor, which is like the 5th color picker point.

Short version: it's pretty neutral, about 1-2% green.

edit: I wish I could switch the color picker points all to HSL mode, but here is a tool where you can play around with different colors to see what they look like: hslpicker.com/#f5f5f5

I figured out how to switch them to HSL.
I also added a hue multiply layer to add about 7% green, just to see what it would look like.

With my brown sunglasses on, it looked much more green. To the naked eye, looked plain grey. *shrug*

Great color! Saw one in person. It was too green for my taste... almost a pastel. I submit my order for carbonized gray. Area 51 was my first choice but after seeing it in person I went with gray.

Nope seen it inside and outside... on a ranger and a sport... saw hints of green both times and so did the 4 other people with me....

I think it is a fine color, but it isn't green. I've seen it on a Ranger and it is gray. It would look good with a black top. Not sure about MIC going with it but hey its your ride so do what you want.

I'm getting the mic top for now, until they tell me I can't get my cactus gray Bronco until 22 then I'll switch to a white top...if they'll let me.

Cactus Gray has been vexing me- photos show it as greenish, blueish, grayish... it looks somewhere between putty and toothpaste in digital pics.

I had to put eyes on the color. I went to the dealer today and they just received a Bronco Sport in Cactus Gray.

To my surprise, it is definitely greenish-gray in person. Yet, it does not look that way on my iPhone camera- much more gray. But I took these pictures, and they do show a bit of green, I believe. It is a great color.

Cactus gray would be indicative of a greenish gray color considering most cactuses are typically some form or other of green. No surprise that it has a greenish hue to it.
