Don't roast me up please.

I don't understand how we have seen the interior and exterior of broncos at the factory and them being built and looking ready. But everything is still being delayed?

They seem like they are in production but not at the same time.

To my knowledge, they are building these Broncos in order to test the assembly process and use these for crash testing and some more materials testing. Everything is being fine-tuned.

Also, if the production is ultimately delayed, it will be because they are having difficulty sourcing parts. A lot of suppliers were hit pretty hard by covid.

Those are test units. Both for vehicle testing and line tooling testing.

No sellable Broncos are being produced.

Yep, my uncle who works at Ford is a millwright and said they have been crazy busy retooling and making sure the lines are ready

pre-production frankenbuilds are currently in process.
basically, they're checking that all the applicable tab A's fit into the matching slot B's
for all the parts from all the possible sub-vendors.

Wouldn’t surprise me. We had a ford rep at my dealership last week showing the sales department the bronco sport and I was talking to him about the bronco and he said unofficially not to expect them to be delivered until summer, then he said probably mid July. He said it’s not official just his prediction from what he’s seen

This is standard for new models.

They have launch teams which are responsible for this. Essentially they build 2 or 3 a day on the assembly line that is producing current models (in this case the ranger). They are making sure all the processes make sense and that they can get part A into spot B within X seconds.

Additionally this process helps discover quality issues in the individual items. Of which there are over 1,300 new tooled end items.

and they will find errors everywhere. Real basic stuff too - such as the Plastic semi-circle that goes around the radiator fan. Has to be able to flex 15% for install. One will break upon install and then they will have to go back to the plastics manufacture and determine why their melt seam is in the middle of the object where it needs to flex... blah blah blah

The process takes FOREVER. Hence why you are currently seeing broncos in October

I thought it was 'in March'. Another change???
Oh, perhaps I meant March! Sorry....tho' I do now seem to recall doing the math in my head of production numbers and my place in line and beginning in May....now you've got me wondering.
