I hope you achieve this. I must have missed the BDS build, but a while back I was pondering how the Bronco would look in this setup and used my amazing (/s) photoshoppe (mspaint) skills to get an idea of how sweet it would be.

@BigMeatsBronco here are some early photos posted in 2020 showing just the painted Bronco bodies, which gives good views of the Roll Bar before everything is mounted. These may help to build your sawzall template.

Here's a story of what can happen when you start to mess with a vehicle's structural integrity.

Once upon a time, Dinan came out with multiple tuning upgrades for the Z8. One or two were just airflow, but a third involved cutting away a bit of the aluminum box frame that makes up the transmission tunnel.​

All this is just to urge you to be careful about what you don't know if you're messing around with your Bronco's structure.

In case any of you want to read about what actually happened with Dinan and the Z8 back around 2003, I found a link to the saga. It was a long time ago, and I apparently got part of the story wrong. The car didn't go in for an inspection but rather for repairs, and the BMW repair center declared it totaled due to what Dinan had done.

But hopefully this helps highlight the importance of being aware of the engineering behind our Broncos.

The first thing I did when I got my 73 1/2 cab was remove the top. That would save some steps here.

Very interested to see what you come up with. Looks like drilling out some hard spot welds will be needed. I just drilled into my B pillar and found that to be pretty hard steel.

I have my airbag covers off right now if you want any pics.

A concern has been raised about loading the covers if you tug on a strap or handle that drapes around them, so I was hoping to understand that risk

I see. There's a pretty good air gap between the plastic and airbag, I can't see any harm.

Apparently the nay sayers have never chopped a top. What the OP is proposing is essentially the same process. Remove the existing structure and replace with new structure.

Exactly, How many SAS TTB broncos are on the road? A ton. No one ever seemed to complain about the frame mods required.
