I was originally MGV but switched to leather once seeing it in person. I thought the leather felt more "Substantial" then the MGV. In addition the other things you get with the leather such as power seats made me feel I was purchasing something better then a 60k utility truck. I also noticed the mats did a really good job covering the carpet so i was less worried about the washout floors. Also the photo in this thread is really terrible and doesn't do the leather justice. Looks/feels really good IMO.

I've never had problems with Ford's leather on anything newer than about 2000. Almost half a million total miles on the 3 Fords in my driveway and the leather is fine on all of them.

it feels nice and looks really good, but it was really thin. Might be ok for the average person, but if someone has dogs I feel like it will get damaged. Pretty sure my dogs nails would damage it
Probably, but dogs destroy everything. Maybe some Carhartt seat covers would hold up.

This is a product of people being lazy and/or not knowing how to properly get in and out of a vehicle, combined with mediocre quality seats that can't stand up to abuse - an attribute shared by most Fords.

If you make the effort to properly get in and out of your personal vehicle, your seats will hold up much better.

Believe it or not, Ford intentionally made them blue. It’s really not a defect.

I have leather seats in my car and always put multiple layers down for my dogs in an abundance of caution. I’m getting a 2dr BD so my boys are gonna have the run of the folded down back seat cargo area which I’d wager will keep my MGV nice for a long time. I wish they had the seat back covers like in the Bronco Sport for this exact purpose! There will be plenty of options to take care of this, I know, it just seems like such a no brainer to carry over from the other vehicle in the family it seems a little strange they didn’t do it.

These demo vehicles must have been heavily abused… worse than a rental car. I’m not overly surprised by this, also factoring in it’s a pre-production vehicle too.
