Dealer installed license plate bracket into the grill

Picked up my new Wildtrak yesterday and the license plate bracket was mounted into the trim under the grill. Im pissed

Ummm…… yah…… I’d go back and have a talk w the sales manager as well as the service manager and have them replace the trim panel. Have to agree, that’s BS

I HATE that body panels are drilled into for a front plate! Always harp on my dealer to leave front plate bracket in trunk, had a new 2007 GT 500 convertible arrive and GM told everyone to NOT attach front plate bracket…then during lunch the car wash guy mounted it! My Porsche dealer was hesitant, (CA requires it), but he let me sign a disclaimer that I understood CA law…sorry for you…

I specifically asked my salesman ahead of time to make a note not to install the front plate. He said they dont install them on Broncos anymore unless the customer asks them to directly.

In the past I’ve found small plastic push pin connectors, painted heads with touch up paint and it at least disguises the holes…

I don't like, but can understand, the idiocy in states that require a front plate, but I bought a camaro in a state that doesn't require it and they installed one in the trim with pop rivets anyway. I guess they thought I wanted one of their advertisement plates on my vehicle.
Many employees at a car dealership are not car people. They just work there. It's just a job. Kinda hard to understand, but half the people working at a dealership don't understand what the problem is.

Very happy I live in a state that doesn't require this, though we have other really F-ed up weird rules.

I'd ask the dealer to replace that piece.

Did you tell your dealer not to install it? I emailed the sales manager and salesman to make sure it wasn't done. Not installed when I got it thank God. Fords license plate bracket location and installation makes no sense. It covers the grill and is drilled it which is crazy.

I was wondering what those little dimples were in that trim. Glad I live in a state without front plates. Definitely have them replace that trim pieces.

Unfortunately, they did what they were supposed to. That's where the bracket is intended to go. Thankfully my dealer is big into the Bronco thing and knows not to install them. I even double checked to be sure and they said they never install them unless specifically asked to.

Unless you specifically told them not to do it, you can’t really be mad at the dealership. They’re just doing what they are supposed to do
