Incorrect, dealer stock won't wet the lines until reservations are built, per Ford. I think you are right about reservation conversion however. $100 is a very low barrier to entry and I think most reservations will fail to convert to orders.
We will agree to disagree. There's simply no way that Ford will build all customer orders before they start addressing dealer orders. For certain, there will be a prioritization on customer reserved vehicles but dealer orders will be being built. What's the alternative? It's simply not practical to believe that the first X- MONTHS of production will be only customer orders.

Ford will also have to consider shipping method. I have no real idea but one would think they would work on a trainload at a time by the semi load from staging to dealers. Also mixed in color schedules at the paint shop. So many variables, I am sure there is some type of flow chart.

There is a dealer here that has confirmed all reservations filled before dealer stock. @Granger Ford

Ford has unequivocally said this as well.

Customer reservations are being built out before dealer stock. When the reservations are nearly done and dealer stock units blend into production you'll obviously see overlap, but I don't get how people still don't understand this.

Customer reservations are being built out before dealer stock units. Per Ford.

They go to the rail yard and they are loaded by destination. Having when around Chevy and Dodge fans who have ordered their cars I’ve heard it from them. A lot of times the rail yard is the longest wait as they don’t ship out until the car is full. Which is why Granger might get a break because they’ll have a lot going to their area.

Hmmm, I see trucks from the Kentucky plant roll on I-65 full of Super Dutys all the time.

I wonder if Chicago-lands proximity to Wayne will mean direct truck freight, thus faster trailer fill = faster delivery. Plus, I know they will put several dealers worth on the same truck to make the route efficent.

I'm fairly certain I will straight up CREAM!!! when I see a truck full of Broncos rolling down the road.
LOL!!

The definitely travel by truck also. It may be a manufacturer, region specific thing. I can’t speak for certain but I know Dodge and Chevy bought did rail shipment with the people I knew.

whoop, was just thinking (in type) out loud. Not debating truck or train, just commenting and hoping that "direct from plant" trucking might get me my Bronc that much sooner! LOL

I can easily see rail being a better deal for Colorado and further west from Detroit, Wayne , maybe even Ky truck plant, not sure exactly where the truck plant is.

I'm 100% sure Ford is lying. Like that other guy says. I'm sure they will easily hide the fact that they had lied. It's not like there's a lightspeed communications platform where truth is immediately revealed. There's no way that anyone here would learn of the betrayal and certainly the people on this forum would never raise a fuss (revolt?) when Ford breaks a promise.

Consider this. It has never EVER been done before in history. Car launch is an EXTREMELY important time for the manufacturer. You need to capitalize as much as possible on your short term build capacity and you need to keep, draw-in, excite, motivate your prospective market/buyers. You need to get units to dealers and draw buyers into showrooms. At launch, it will be a prized, high-profit vehicle - for both the vehicle itself and the prospect of dealer add-ons/accessories.

As I have said from the beginning, Ford WILL prioritize customer orders - no doubt about that. But they will simultaneously be producing Broncos to get into their dealer's hands.

For those that are saying otherwise - what's even a conservative estimate on how long it will take production to fulfill the pre-orders? 3 months? 4-months? So, let's say first shipments start in June, 2021. Do you really think that Ford will tell their entire dealer network, no units in June. None in July, none in August. September? If that really turns out to be the case, then all of those with more than 1 reservation can really bingo. Keep one, flip the other one. The (non-reserved) demand will be there. Either Ford allows THEIR dealerships to address the demand OR the peeps that plunked down an initial $100 will fill it.

Just my $.02....

That is the opposite of what we are being told from Ford...

So I will stick with they are producing the Mannequins only for the dealerships along with the reservations...

My question is how would you feel knowing that there would be Broncos on the lot and still waiting for your reservation... that would be a total fail on Fords Part...

BTW we still cannot order stock Bronco Sports...

My .02 and worth both pennies...

Your pennies may in fact be worth more than my pennies!!

I'm not sure who's right here. I too hear what Ford is saying. However, I just don't see how they can "hold the line" with the dealer network for 2, 3, 4 months or more while they work exclusively on filling reservations. I am just pointing out that it is a real conundrum for Ford. They've either fibbed to "us" and they're going to have a very unhappy dealer network, or they will mitigate the dealer network issue (with more than just Mannequins) and expose the fib they communicated to the ones (like me!) who have reserved a vehicle. Time will tell.
