Wow that is amazing scenery! Thanks for sharing, that is truly the land of the wild. I am hoping to put together a Dempster Highway trip in next couple years in the Bronco. Alaska and the Yukon have always held me in awe and amazement.
Alaska next summer, probably the whole month of July then the Dempster around Aug 1. It would be nice to get a caravan together.
I'm going start a new thread with a poll.

Fantastic and inspiring pics!!! Thanks for taking the time to share!!!
I'm showing them to my family right now, try to get them thinking about such a trip.
We are going. July ‘24!

That would be cool to do. Pulling a trailer, roof top tent? What’s your plan for camping on your trip?

You guys always seem to like my Alaska photos, and i like sharing them in full size rather than just cropped down Instagram posts, so here's some from my most recent trip across the Denali Highway. I've done it 3 times now and it's always jaw-dropping. No big wildlife sightings as usual, which is unfortunate. Still, the landscape is gorgeous, and that alone makes it worth the nearly 1000 miles I rack up each time I do it.

Caught the F22s doing what looked like some mock dog-fighting. 2 pairs of them, very cool to watch!

Beautiful photos and nice looking rig. How does the vehicle handle with the Odyssey tent? How is the composite roof holding up with the added weight? Thanks.

I would be interested in joining a caravan to Alaska!

Oh boy. The roof seems to be holding up okay in that i haven't seen any damage, but it does NOT like the weight. It creaks, squeaks, rattles and pops like crazy. The whole rear clamshell is compressed/flexed downward so far it's difficult to do up the middle latch in the back. That latch actually makes contact with the rear roll bar and is rubbing paint off. It goes back to normal with the tent off, hopefully it's not doing any long term damage.

The Bronco itself does fine with the weight, though it is noticeable up there and the whole setup takes about 2mpg off my fuel economy.

I have Icon stage 7 under it and it compresses the suspension 2¼" out back. I think the front loses ¾" but it's not really noticeable there.

I haven't weighed it but I estimate I'm at about 250lbs with the rack, tent, crossbars and awning.

Thanks for the feedback. Have you considered the JCR Roof Rack Reinforcement brackets to help with the sagging? I am in the market for a RTT and my concern is the roof sag also. I personally am looking at the Skycamp Mini 3.0 because it comes in around 125 lbs.

Yea I did, but their website wouldn't ship to Alaska and my email asking them if they would ship to me went unanswered.

The 49" Odyssey is on the lighter side of premium tents at 134 lbs, but the RCI roof rack is HEAVY despite being aluminum. The FSR awning is only 35 lbs but it all adds up.

how big are the skeeters?
The Alaskan state birds are big enough to pick up small pets and take them back to their nests. Absolutely legendary and only slightly exaggerated. ;)

Beautiful pictures, amazing scenery, visited Denali when in the AF. every time I took a trip away from the base was amazing, Alaska always made me feel like a grain of sand. Alaska is always on my mind, always thinking about a road trip, but from California it's about 3500 miles +/- depending which way you go and if you don't stop; which would made no sense.  (y)

Driving through Alaska in a Bronco, then parking to watch a couple F-22’s perform training maneuvers sounds like one of the coolest experiences ever.
