My favorite are the XL80 from Baja Designs. I think they are just the right size. I've ran them all and currently run the Diode Dynamics SS5.

The XL80 just seem to fit great and offer a tremendous amount of light. If you didn't want to pay the $$ for the XL80 you can do the XL series (which is a larger version of the Squadron).

Our MOST POPULAR kit that we sell however are the Diode Dynamics SS3 (similar in size to the Baja Designs Squadron).

So maybe check out the Diode Dynamics SS3. You get a lot for your money over the Baja Designs Squadrons. But the next step up in size with Diode Dynamics would be the SS5, which are big.

I went with KC HiLites Flex Era 4 combo beam on a set of Bad Ass Mounts - so I get the up and down and side to side. Amber backlighting and light on separate aux switches. Made custom decals for my covers so I can swap out depending on mood - but the KC smiley is my standard.

I really like those mounts. Do they allow you to turn the lights 360 degrees to face behind you (or almost behind you)? Just thinking for loading the back of the vehicle at night, that could be helpful.

To each their own. I like the smaller round lights. A friend likes the larger square lights. He thinks they look good, I don't. Neither one of us is wrong because it is his rig and his chose. If you are looking for a set. Look at a lot of pictures, and see what looks good to you.

In theory yes you could swivel them all the way around however the size of the light and proximity to the mirror will limit the rotation.

Well here is something completely different. I have them on the same BAM mounts others are using. Torn about the mounts. I really like being able to turn the lights but once I have them aimed I have not needed to turn them. That and I wish they were not quite so tall....

The lights on the other hand are entirely different. I really really like them. 3200 lumens each. There are several mentioned here that are brighter but these work exceedingly well. Typical flood light has a 60 degree dispersion. These have 120 degree. No hot spots. Very even wide light.

Aesthetically the housing is white... Matches my vehicle better. (available in black though) the unique lense shape mimics the shape of the area lights in the mirrors. Not going to work for everyone, and shouldn't, but I am really happy.

I would like to have directional (motorized) ditch lights, think your side mirrors, but outward and side facing….. maybe add a focus and intensity adjustment…. Spotlight vs. broadcast
