Do dealers take deposits if the person who pre-orders doesn’t take delivery?

Just curious, would this be something that would increase my chances of finding a Wildtrak on the lot? I’d be willing to wire up to $15k to lock myself into one of these.

Depending on the state law. In CA, I think dealers have to refund deposits if you back out more than 48 hours of vehicle arrival at dealership.

I guess basically if I put $15k down over the phone, they would pretty much hold it if the law allowed, right?

I see you are in SoCal. Sunrise Ford has quite a few WT's they show in transit. You never know with interest rates, inflation and the stock market of recent, some who place reservations some time ago may be in a different situation now.

They’ll just take that $15k as ADM, so yes a dealer will happily take your $15k
