I don't see an issue using 93 unless you add a tune than you may be increasing stress on internal parts.

For best overall vehicle and engine performance, premium fuel with an octane rating of 91 or higher is recommended.

I was so fed up with the BS that I went thru, I just ran for the door! The length of my explanation would be that of a thesis. ridonkulous experience...

Maybe he didn't give you good context on that comment and meant you didn't necessarily need it and was trying to save you $$. I'm using it and have been for 3,000 miles. My choice, some are not using. Haven't seen issues either way. I wouldn't stress about it.

I run 91 and have been for 2k miles but that is only because 93 isn't readily available in AZ otherwise I'd be using 93.

The manual states to not use anything below 87 as well as
Do not use:
• Diesel fuel.
• Fuels containing kerosene or paraffin.
• Fuel containing more than 15% ethanol or E85 fuel.
• Fuels containing methanol.
• Fuels containing metallic-based additives, including manganese-based compounds.
• Fuels containing the octane booster additive, methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT).
• Leaded fuel, using leaded fuel is prohibited by law.

I’d say your dealer should be educated on their product. They were most likely confused and should of said do not use 83.

Quality of fuel varies by station and state. Use whatever grade fuel you want the mfgr. recommends, just get it from a reputable supplier. Yes, winter and summer blend is a real thing and so is the amount of ethanol states allow distributors to blend in.
