So, I have been trying to figure out my auto high beams on my Bronco. When I manually change them (non-auto) there is a significant difference between low beam and high beam. When I run in automatic, I don't notice the same difference. But the high beam indicator is on. I was wondering if there is a gradual increase in auto that might make the transition less noticable?

They are weird. Going to bright is a process rather than a quick on/off. They do click off....but I often look to see if they're on.

My observations as well. The wife's 22 Exploder Timberline is the same way. Hard to tell if the come on. Just a slow transition from low to high.

Yep, plus they don't come on under ~30mph. They shut down as soon as you can see tail lights and/or headlights

I'm pretty sure there's a setting buried in the infotainment to turn this on and off. I've left it on, I prefer the gradual increase over the flashing I've gotten with other autobrights systems.

Ok, that would explain it. Just different than my explorer ST or my Tremor.

I only notice it happening because the overall light output gets much dimmer when the SS3 Pro foglights kick off for the auto-high. 😅

IMO the auto-high beam as it is implemented is annoying and stupid. I would much rather have the lights auto-dim when set on high beam than to have them automatically turn high beams on when I've got them set to low.

I was blinding pedestrians in the town I live in and had no way to *not* blind them, other than disabling the system completely.

Just curious. They go high over 25 mph. And in my use they switch low when they sense light, auto, street lights. How are you blinding pedestrians in town?

50kph (30mph) speed limit in my town.
Street lights aren't 100% coverage in any town I've ever been in.
Pedestrians don't always wear head lamps?

OK, that explains one of my annoyances, at the same intersection ... LOL.

My Base clicks on/off instantly.
The Badlands with the "upgraded" lighting has the slow ramp up to full brightness.
Slow being about 2 or 3 seconds.

(Signature lighting, I think that was the term I was looking for above).

You must fly through town as I thought they turn off high beam under 30mph. I also notice street lights dim them.
