I'd guess you need to offer a definition of country music, because what's on the radio today is not country in my opinion. It's a mish mash of rock, pop, and heavily affected accented singers going on about Budweiser, their mamas, Broken hearts, and pick up trucks.

Country has kind of jumped the shark I believe as it's been ruined by the marketing plans of record companies.. I'm old school so it's Williams, Cash, Lynn, Carter, Jones, Nelson, Twitty, Cline, Monroe, to just name a very few of those giants who WERE the genre.

Yes a little, but the selection of current artists within my wheelhouse is limited.

the machine of music industry really did a number on country music over the last 30 years if you ask me. Artists like Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, and a bit of Stapleton are a direct reaction to the “pop machine”.

I do, but 95% of what’s on country radio nowadays is shit. There’s still plenty of modern country artists making new music that’s far better than what the radio ever plays, you just need to find them.

Didn't realize listening to radio stumping music was anything a normal person would do. There must be a least two million different versions of my wife ran off and left me, the dog died and now I'm left puking in my beer.

Hell no. There are maybe 10 - 12 songs for both country and western that I will listen to and legit like. All the rest is just terrible noise.

I don't listen to country but to each their own.

Also, I didn't realize there were country music hipsters.

Not typically but my son introduced me to Zach bryan and I have done nothing but listen to him for the last 4-5 months. His 34 song major label debut “american Heartbreak” is easily the best album of the year. Amazing song writer. Usually an alt 90s rock guy though I do listen to lots of different artists of other genres As well.
