Does anyone know how the soft top will open?

Webasto will be making both the MIC and the painted hardtop. The MIC panels are produced in house and the painted panels come from another supplier. The painting is all done by an outside company and then the panels are assembled and then sent to the Ford plant.

There will be painted hardtops for both the 2dr and 5dr model.

From another thread.... no talk of the soft tops in it though.

Webasto makes convertible tops and sunroofs for a lot of different vehicles. They are making the hard and soft tops for the Bronco.

I'm back and forth between the soft top and MIC hard top. Does anyone have info on how it will open & operate? I loved the operation of my 2018 JL Unlimited and am hoping Ford will be as good or even improve on the ease of operation.

what we don't know is how the back window will open.

I am betting you un-clamp the front header, slide or zip out the two side windows, and then either unzip and roll up the rear window or ?‍.

At that point flip the front header up and over, and drop the back bows down.

None of that is easy to visualize, but because the top looks so similar to the JLs, it will be pretty similar to this:



Note: the video is painfully slow. Once you know what you're doing it goes much faster.

The guys I have talked to with a sun rider insert over the front row of seats make it sound similarly easy: two latches and flip. If I go with plan B and get a gladiator, this is the what I’ll do. I am hoping Ford or Bestop eventually offer a sun rider insert for the two door even though we haven’t seen one yet, and I’ll probably get the Trektop.
