Has anybody else made holes in there modular bumper for light bar installs. Good idea or bad idea? pros and cons?

Why not just buy one of the many available that bolt on ?
That is another option but I have thoughts of doing something different. Thanks

I like drilling hole in my bronco. When doing it make sure you have the arm bar on the front of the drill. Protect what might get hit in a bind. Have put over 20 holes on the outside already. Some have rivet nuts, some lights in them. Just take your time. It’s thick but kind a soft. Use a punch to center hole too.

Far as good idea or bad, that would be if you have wires behind the location, accidental poke through with a drill bit, or getting the double portion of the bumper. Besides that, mod at it!

😬 agree with bolt on, unless you’ve got the bumper in a fixture and use a drill press/fixture of some kind with super accurate measurement you’re ultimately a human and will not get the holes perfect, that would bother me.

This may be stating the obvious but to build on the great advice above, once you’ve drilled it out, debur the edges and make sure to hit it with rattle can for a clean look and to avoid rust.
