Eco isn't super useful unless you're doing a lot of stop and go. I never notice a difference in MPG when I use it because I rarely see more than 1 or 2 stoplights when I drive.
As to the I'm gonna use Sport Mode because I'm gonna rebel against climate change attitude: Sure, if you wanna throw money away just because you can, that's your choice. I suppose you leave every light in your house on at all times too... It may only be small savings here and there but I personally would rather waste my money on cool shit, like bumpers and lifts than throw it away a tiny bit at a time because I don't like the science.
I mean even IF I was that petty, it takes WAY more effort than I'm willing to give switching the knob over to Sport every time, even when it's one small twist vs two.
