Chain driven.A timing belt driven oil pump. Genius.
How is the pump driven on the 2.3??? Directly by the crank, as it should be?
Little different on the Bronco. It uses a balance shaft/oil pump assembly with a large gear on the crankshaft to spin it.Chain driven.
Interesting. It makes deleting the balancer a little more work.Little different on the Bronco. It uses a balance shaft/oil pump assembly with a large gear on the crankshaft to spin it.
Yeah for sure. The new updated 2.3 in the mustang uses the same style now also. I believe the Ranger was the first 2.3 released to use this type of pump.Interesting. It makes deleting the balancer a little more work.
