Hey guys, dont know if this has been gone over yet so dont throw chairs at me. I just got an email from my dealer with insight on how orders, allocations etc. will go down. Again I apologize if this has been covered...

Hi, my name is Chris Williamson and I am the General Manager at Ernest McCarty Ford. I wanted to take a few moments to both thank you for placing your Bronco reservation with us as well as update you on what we know so far. I know you must be excited as we are for the return of this venerable nameplate and the Ford engineers & designers have really hit this one out of the park.

Last Friday, Ford shared a video with dealers to give us more insight into reservations, converting your reservation into an actual buildable order and estimated production timing.

With reservations in excess of 165,000, Ford has more reservations than the first year production capacity. They do expect about 75% of the reservations to convert to orders which still exceeds 2021 capacity. For some customers, their orders may be built in the 2022 model year.

There is an allocation formula in place to try to spread allocation fairly amongst all dealers across the country. A major factor in allocation is how many of our reservations we have converted into retail orders; this is where we need your help.

In October, a Build & Price website will be launched that allows you to go in and fully configure an order to your taste. This website will be shared by both Ford and Ernest McCarty Ford once it launches. When it does launch, we would ask that you go into the site and play around with configurations in order to land on the exact configurartion you would like to order; this includes choosing from the vast number of accessories available in order to make your Bronco unique to you. Keep in mind that Bronco accessories will only be available from Ford dealers for the first few months and will not be available in the aftermarket.

The actual order bank then will open in early December and we would like to input all of our orders as soon as possible after the order bank opens. This is where pre-spec'ing your vehicle to know exactly what you want benefits you. Actual orders in the dealer's order bank will be time stamped and this will generally determine the order in which each dealer's orders will be selected for scheduling; note that this is the time the order is put in the order bank by us, not the time when you placed your reservation. I am sure commodity issues will come into play so there may be some juggling of the production schedule.
In February 2021, Ford will provide each customer a date range or window as to when their order will be built.

With all that being said, it will be imperative to get your order in as quickly as possible once the order bank opens in December as we have over 90 reservation here at Ernest McCarty alone. If you are not working with a salesperson already, we will be assigning one of our Bronco specialists to assist you through this process. We look forward to working with you on finalizing your Bronco order and getting you one step closer to the finished product.

So weird he refers to order time stamp vs reservation time stamp...
Yea I saw that too. Pressure Play by Ernest McCarty? They make it sound like a first come first serve kind of thing.

Yet Ford has your reservation number and time-stamp. Did I read somewhere here that no matter when the dealer gets your order in, Ford will process according to reservation time stamp?

Interesting. At least you got an email so that's something. I'm reserved with another Alabama dealer at the moment and its been crickets. And that is not how even the new process has been described by other dealers on this forum. Wonder if they are just saying that to get a much quicker idea of how many reservations they can covert to orders vs. dragging the order process out into January?

Well, I also question this part;

“Keep in mind that Bronco accessories will only be available from Ford dealers for the first few months and will not be available in the aftermarket.”

That is what I thought I read too..

I do too wonder if his dealership is adding pressure to their customers to order fast just to ensure they get their allocations

This has to be wrong and contradicts Fords website. No way does someone who put in a reservation this week going to get their order put ahead of someone who reserved first week because of when the dealer submits the orders.

That, or the other dealers on here aren’t saying anything about it yet because they were told not to say anything. And this is a public forum where they will get caught talking about the changes? Just stirring the pot here.

If that were true, this would be the worse idea I’ve heard yet about the Bronco. This would be a big fail on Ford.

Seems he's looking for the "panic" order to convert reservations.

Edit: That being said, and I said this months ago, as soon as I can get my order in I am. I don't know how the system works (seems no one does) but I'm making sure I can do my due diligence to get my order in ASAP.

This was what I was thinking. When I contacted the dealership in July I was 10 on their reservation list and placed my order at 3am when servers came back up. Want to know how pissed I would be if I didnt get mine next summer?

Exactly, that's the only language I keyed on in the whole thing
