Man, this is embarrassing. Came home and before pulling in the garage thought I'd play in the snow in the yard. Mind you the snow pack has been there since early November. Today it was around 30F and snowing. 4L, both front and rear lockers I was going slow. I stopped before pulling back into the driveway right where the birm is from plowing the driveway. That was all she wrote, she just spun. Thought I could shovel a little and get it out but no, I had to fire up my F250 and give it a yank. The Bronco is warming up in the garage now.

Did you air down? Hopefully that would have made all the difference. Had the same thing happen in my Super Duty a few weeks ago. Airing down made her crawl right through.

To turn around in my yard before parking in the garage 50ft away for the night? No I didn't 😂

Hey you wouldn't happen to have a solid axle swapped Explorer would you?

My guess is that you could have either aired down or used vehicle recovery boards (like Max Trax) to easily get unstuck, probably didn't need the F-250. But hey, you were there and would know best, not me, and it looked pretty icy under the fluff . . . glad you were close to home!

Damn that sucks and another person posted a video going thru the snow and the Bronco seems to struggle. Has to be the Tires IMO.

In my case I'm running Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3 315/70R17 studded snow tires. They are designed for high traction on snow/ice covered roads and they are fantastic for that. Clawing through deep snow not so much.

Did you try using crawl control after you got stuck?

Sometimes in conditions like that (or sand), the computer controlled inputs can control wheel spin far better and actually get it unstuck.

Sitting at idle, in 4L it was spinning all 4 tires with no throttle inputs. If I would have had just a little momentum going through the snow birm I wouldn't have been stuck. Live and learn I suppose.
