And only the front one comes on
Excuse my ignorance because I don't own a Bronco, but are you saying on these trucks, if you press the camera button, it turns on the front camera and not the rear facing one?

No worries. And no, just the front one. And only if under 10 mph. Maybe even less like @Ducati1098 mentioned. The only time it comes on full time (front camera) is when you switch to off-road GOAT modes like Baja, Mud/Ruts, etc. The rear camera only comes on when in reverse.

Yeah that’s true. I honestly forgot what the camera button did because I rarely ever press it.
I use it all the time. I've become almost too reliant on it. 20 years of driving without nanny features and now I feel like I can't live without it. Perfect parking every time 🤣

Camera button? Show me. My Black Diamond is mid package if that matters.
High/lux with 360 cameras only. Camera button initiates a few views under like 5 mph. Great for parking or off-roading when you want to see an obstacle etc.

Yeah I forgot it doesn’t show the rear camera. Only front and Birds Eye 360 view

Interesting. I don't think this will work the way I though it would if that's the case. It won't hurt anything to try; it should still allow you to use it at speed instead of shutting off, but that's not very useful. If that's the case, I'll have to dig a bit deeper.

You might want look at a dash cam mirror like Wolfbox sells.

Or any dash cam that uses a remote camera.

I found something else that seems relevant to this. There are settings in the APIM that pertain to enabling different camera views. I pulled the VIN of a random Bronco that has rear camera only and in these two values, it shows a 04. So, RCOD is disabled with the 0 and only hitch view at speed is enabled with the 4.

In this vehicle, I would change the 0 to an 8 to enable ROCDV, and I would change the 4 to an 8 to disable HVS and enable ROCDV at speed instead. So:

7D0-01-04

xxxx 88xx xx--

I think this also works for trucks with the 360 cams, too. However, if the Bronco has off-road views at speed, then instead of 88, I would do 89 to enable RCODV in one value, and RCODV at speed and OVS with the other to see if that displays. Or just do 88 and you sacrifice off-road cameras at speed for just reverse camera at speed. Again: Just document whatever is there before you change anything so you can revert back if needed.

I'll give it a shot this weekend and see if I can get it to work.
@Ducati1098 did you get a chance to try these changes yet (to IPMA 706-02-02 and 7D0-01-04) ? I was about to, but realized my FORScan license has expired.

The GM of the dealer I work for has a Bronco Raptor. I asked him if he would let me FAAFO with his truck on this, but he refused. :ROFLMAO:

I did try it just now, no luck. Still shuts the front camera off after 5 mph

Edit: I just now saw the post about 7D0-01-04
I did not try that yet

My OCD has not allowed me to forget about this. We just took a Bronco in trade. I'm going to mess with it when I get a chance and see if I can get it to work.

Edit: This guy installed a BOV on it. It sounds awesome. It has the 2.7tt engine.

I got FORScan working again with a new temp license. Just to wrap up this thread I tried the suggestions from above:
  • change the IPMA 706-02-02 to xxxF.xxxx.xx--, as well as
  • change the APIM 7D0-01-04 to xxxx.89xx.xx-- (also tried 88xx).
  • I rebooted both modules after the changes were made.

No luck. Camera views (front, overhead, side) still shut off above ~7mph, and rearview camera is not selectable at any speed unless in Reverse gear. 😞 Oh well.
