Is this clicking sound normal ?

Has anyone else got the same sound when starting up their Bronco ?

This just started happening in the last week.
And it’s only on a cold start up.
Once I get the engine going, if i turn it off and turn it back on, it does not make the sound.

It’s cold in Las Vegas right now. Does weather have anything to do with it ?

The engine has to be removed to service the cam phaser issue. I wouldn't try it at home...

thanks. Now to figure out if it’s something I can fix myself or need to take into dealership.
Bring it to your dealer. The whole front and top of the engine need to come apart basically.

It's another cam phaser issue. Seems to be way too common. To be honest, if my Bronco does this, then I'm trading it for something more reliable. I don't have time for this bullshit....or the patience.

My 23 black diamond did that exact same thing about two months after I got it, lasted for about a week and hasn’t happened since, I attributed it to cold weather starts. Glad to know I’m not the only one!

Oh that's definitely bad Cam phasers and You should get them replaced under warranty.

Mine has a slight tick (sounds like 1 valve) when the engine is cold but once it warms up it goes away. Slight valve train noise is common...THAT NOISE IS NOT SLIGHT.

I too have a 2023 Bronco Badlands. I had the same noise. Ford first said they couldn’t reproduce the noise, and months later, said yes they hear the noise, but I should wait until it gets worse. It got worse, and today they are repairing it. This all lasted over a year.
