From what I’ve seen people do not have much luck challenging the conveyance fee

Etch and wheel locks need to go unless you asked for that. Conveyance is probably doc and could be negotiated out of the vehicle price but will still show on the paperwork. Gotta charge everyone or no one in most states, can't pick and choose who you hit it with.

I would ask what the non-tax, etch and conveyance fees are. If the conveyance fee is the delivery fee, everyone pays the same whether the vehicle traveled 1500 miles or 10.

The conveyance fee is somethings standard in Connecticut I think so I don’t think I will challenge that. But I think I will challenge the edge and wheel lock and also ask what the non-tax fees are.

I hear ya. Sales tax in Maine up to 5.5% plus we get to pay an additional local excise tax when we register

Unless you get a significant insurance premium discount, I'd lose the wheel locks and etch, and challenge both the dealer conveyance fee and the non-tax fees. You should expect to pay some kind of "docs" fee for tags, title and reg, but that should be in the $150-300 range.

The non-tax fees he said were for plate registration? He’s taking off the Etch and the wheel locks. It’s not a lot of money but a small moral victory I guess.

Lol... I wish my sales tax would be that low. I get to pay 8.25% + Dmv Reg. Looking at 5-6k on top of sales price OTD.
