If they get the cosmetics rights from pre production and first round of production they might have some in showrooms, they might not need to be fully functional for showrooms as long as they are not for test drive...
Yeah I could see that. I'd hate to be the salespeople who have to tell people no on test drives though

Go get a sales job at a dealership and be the Bronco expert and hopefully you will get to go to a ride and drive event!
...assuming they still do those @Granger Ford
Not been invited to one of those yet...would be nice..

As for the manneqines all are visiting about on here more than likely Sports like we will have not the bigger Broncos.

As @toystwo pointed out they will highly unlikely build 6000 or so models prior to the regular production run for reservations...

But we can all hope for that it would be nice...

Dealers are getting confused, below is a copy of part of the letter we got to sign up for the Bronco Sport mannequin program. You'll notice it says allocation AHEAD of retail/reservation, but these will still be production units, so they will be built after Job 1. No program for Bronco yet, but the sport letter says one will be coming, we dealers are all hoping for 2 units of Bronco (like the 2 we get for Sport), but it might only be one, we don't know as there is no official announcement yet other than its coming soon. That said, on both Broncos, they will be production units so they won't be on dealers lots for ordering, the purpose of these units is to sell accessories and Bronco orders after production begins. Ford is going to push accessories hard as they see I big profit center here, and on Bronco I agree, accessories will be huge, Bronco Sport, I'm not as sure about.

Here's some of the letter from Ford on the program:
With the launch of the Bronco Sport, Ford is offering Dealers the opportunity to participate in a new FCTP program. This program will offer dealers an opportunity to receive up to 2 incremental units of allocation ahead of reservation/retail order fulfillments. Units will require a pre-selected accessory package.

Note: Enrollment and execution of the Bronco and Bronco Sport FCTP programs will occur at different times and dealers will be made aware of each program prior to its inception.

so they will be built after Job 1.
Sorry for hi-jacking the thread. I've sen "job 1" mentioned many times. This is the first time I've actually cared much about factories and build schedules. But I haven't been able to figure out what "job 1" actually means.

Part of being a Bronco dealer is that on person per dealer must attend "Offsite Bronco Training", it must be Bronco Specialist or have Fii signing authority. Doesn't say where, when or what this training will be. I've seen these be terrible (Mercury Cougar), and great (04 F-150 and GT350), but we'll see after I go.

Job 1 is Ford speak for start of production (SOP).

Job 1 is start of production for a new model year. Job 2 would be if there's a mid year change, for example mid year Ford changed the dash trim on 2020 Explorers so they call these Job 2, sometimes they get to a Job 3, but its rare.

I liked the 2003 Expedition event I went to and if I could be guaranteed a ride & drive at one of the proposed "Off-roadeos" I'd consider slingin' cars again...for a bit, haha.

I hope you all get a great event and pack your cameras and notepads, because you will be grilled by this forum afterwards. :D

*Sigh*, they want us to pony-up (sorry, I am going to beat that pun of a dead horse (see what I did there) into the ground) nearly $60k for a new vehicle, but we are not allowed to see it in person before hand? Come on Ford, I think we can all agree that is asking a bit much of the consumer and one thing I cannot compromise on.

I can understand not being able to test drive but I would like to see the colors in person, the different interior fabrics, the soft top vs hard top and the differences between a normal suspension, BL suspension and a squatched suspension. With the slow trickle of negative news it still seems like Ford is trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I'm a non complainer. We don't post much about stuff that's OK with us. Just to let Ford know we are out here, also...
I'll buy a Bronco, sight unseen. Build it, let me choose options and take my money. I trust that Ford designers and engineers know what they are doing. They don't need my approval. Ford has built a lot of vehicles that I have happily put thousands of miles on. They have come out with a couple of dogs, also. I'm thinking Probe. Ugh. I love the idea of owning a new Ford truck. I know what it will drive and look like. Good or great. I want this one. I really don't care to review how it looks / works / color that I can't choose. I'll take a chance that I'll order all of the options that I want, plus a few that might be cool. I'll love it. I'll take the top off, crank up the stereo and put miles on it. Let's Adventure. Let's go where we haven't gone before. I'm in.
