Or, you can believe it's a global conspiracy to impact the American automobile industry
It's a conspiracy to keep Broncos out of hands of some of the us here. Everyone not on the forums will get theirs on time. :ROFLMAO:

This problem goes back to the 1980s when the computer revolution started and we wanted 2-3K computers so we had to get cheap labor to make them… now all the China, India and Japans own that ability to make these chips and very little of it is in the US.

Note that Toyota and Honda are never mentioned in the chip shortage - why is that??? Neither is Dell or Apple?
I feel it is a organized method to bring the current American auto industry to its knees, then they will have all new “Tesla-like” companies pop up that have no issues getting the tech they need to build vehicles and they will all be electric. I smell a RAT in this and there is a deeper plan.
Or maybe those companies have better contingency plans?

Good information, I see that Honda states that frozen pipes in US caused issues - really?
Did you not read about the Texas blackouts in February where our homes, businesses and power plants were shutdown for a week with no power and frozen pipes and 6" of snow, the devastation did not stop at the Texas border.

My yard in Dallas (no, we are not equipped for temperatures below zero here)

Me trying to thaw my hot water heater after a few days of no hot water. As you can see our builders do not even insulate our exterior water pipes here.

Who knows which chip thread to post stuff in.

”Lead times on some minor components have reached 11 months”

😬 That can’t be good news.

The following article is about production in Europe and not directly related to the Bronco, but it does suggest that Ford is willing to prioritize vehicles already ordered by customers...

Ford cuts production at two German plants due to chip shortage
BY Reuters
— 8:51 AM ET 05/03/2021

DUESSELDORF, Germany (Reuters) - U.S automaker Ford Motor Co said on Monday it was scaling back production at its plants in Cologne and Saarlouis for the next few weeks due to a semiconductor chip shortage.

"The situation on the global semiconductor market remains tense and, according to all estimates, will continue to be so in the coming months, resulting in supply bottlenecks," a spokeswoman for Ford said in a statement.

The carmaker said it planned to make up for lost production "as best we can" and would prioritise vehicles already ordered by customers.

Ford said around a third of its 15,000 workers in Cologne would be put on shortened working hours from May 3 until June 18 and June 30 to July 9. It said production would re-start on Aug. 16 following the subsequent plant holiday.
