We drove from Fairbanks to Cantwell over the weekend to stay in a yurt and poke around the area.
one of the doggies got excited and loaded herself up early. color match was unintentional but not unexpected (I have a problem with getting too much yellow gear)
Put on my Shark Thule and tried out my Kuat Pivot for the first time. Put on a basket with yeti food insulating vesselsā¦ before moving to Alaska I never used coolers to keep things warm.. haha. The sunrise in Fairbanks made things even more orange than normalā¦
roads were pretty icy, but Iām accustomed to that after a few months in Fairbanksā¦
a few hours later, got the bronco to the yurt. Made it in time for some pretty sunset views.
The pups liked the spot by the Toyo stove
Night descendedā¦
next day we drove around some. We went up the road a few miles to where the Denali highway was closed. I saw Truck House Lifeās truck there, and was sad he wasnāt around. It would have been cool to meet the guy. I watched a lot of his vids when I was thinking of moving up to Alaska. He looked to be rocking a pretty sick snow machine trailer setup. There was also a pretty crazy jeep parked in the area.
We also visited an igloo on the side of the highway. It had an interesting story to it, and Iād been wanting to take a closer look.
