Sorry to hear all that. Sounds like they were lying in wait for you and you were intentionally targeted. The amount of deliberate vandalism is despicable.

I have a retired cop friend. He swears by using "The Club". That would have slowed down their getaway.

Yea I parked around the corner from it called the police. They said leave it alone they were on their way. Waited 30 minutes. They didn’t show so I recovered it myself.
Good for you!! recovering stolen vehicles is like the bottom of the list for the police. I would have gone packing and brought my sharpshooter bro in-law with me. Glad you got it back but sounds like you need a house/garage alarm.

Does that help? I ask bc I don’t really understand the process of how the fob gets cloned.

This was done by a Ravelco dealer here in Florida. Still would prefer a dark gray to blend in better, but it isn't bright white either.

So this Ravelco thing is a second key, or physical key in the case of push button start?

All I want is something Ford could easily add - to be able to set a four digit code to start the vehicle after it’s been off for a short period of time.

If you carry your keys with you, it makes no difference if you use the key code or not. The thief simply relays a signal off of your key fob and then replays it to the vehicle using a software radio (Hack RF, or similar). You do not have to be using the fob to bounce signal off of it. Ford has some very crude logic to tell when you’ve walked away (to make this harder), but as long as you carry your fob with you, or hang it somewhere relatively near the vehicle, it will never kick in. There are ways to fool it as well.

It is a physical second "key". Still need to have your fob with you. The Ravelco is an intermediary circuit in the ignition that is completed when the male/female plugs complete the circuit.

Sounds like a PITA but I suppose if thefts like this become even more common it might be worth it.

Hence the conclusion of my statement "but I suppose if thefts like this become even more common it might be worth it." 🤷‍♂️
