Something to keep in mind. When you reserve you dont have to keep the first edition, you can change to something else. Theres no point in cancelling it or reserving something else if you dont want first edition anymore.

I bet this happened because their site was so messed up they took too many orders and didnt catch it in time. Rather than piss off 3,000 people they doubled whats available. I will probably end up cancelling mine. 7,000 vehicles is not very limited, especially if they marked the price up because of it. Well see how it shakes out when you can price out a build.

Exactly right. Pricing the build is the key.

Definitely seems that way. Site still says Reservations Full. Pricing the build as you said is the key. At least you will be able to pick any color exterior and interior. And when the Bronco Raptor comes out you won’t feel badly for overpaying.

Their stock is 6-7 a share they’re not happy no matter what. I reserved it specifically to have a low production vehicle and was willing to pay the 65000 they asked. Now I’ll just change it to a lesser model and move on.

They are screwing the pooch on first editions. Blue interior and now doubling whats available. Im very happy with my model 3 performance so depending how the build out is I might wait for the raptor.

Folks this might be a good thing. With double the number of FE's they'll need to double the interior orders. And just maybe double the interior color option. Honestly If they add Brown/Ebony leather I could careless how many they produce. Unless your going to park it in the garage and never drive it , the FE's will depreciate like any other vehicle.
Agree with what someone already stated. They took to many deposits on the FE.'s or dealers were complaining that they didn't have any for their showroom floor. And the extra 3500 might be getting allocated to the dealers. Imagine how pissed off buyers would be if they received a email saying they were over reserved and you can no longer get one.

I am getting the feeling that FIrst Editions will be FIRST, thus the limited choices. You get what they want to give you because we are the guinea pigs. That said, they should make it as cool as possible so everyone sees ours and says "WHERE CAN I GET THAT!!" That said, I now have a second reservation (are you listening FORD???) just in case I don't like what they think is cool instead of listening to us!

One thing I am curious about on the 'limited' exterior options is why not offer carbonized gray (or even black) for the First Edition?

My initial thought was that perhaps the 'unique interior' wouldn't match those exterior colors -- but im now changing course and i think it's this:

the "graphics" package is probably a similar color to the carbonized / black and it wouldnt make the "graphics" pop?

what do you guys think?
