Hey, did that Ranger5G forum guy who's engine grenaded after the 5-star tune ever get them to give him a free engine? Obviously Ford said no, and rightly so.
He was a bit of work, but 5-star actually said they would investigate, which was 1,000% more support than they needed to do.
Aftermarket tune = Your on the hook for everything, not the tuner.

Your article was just one guy's opinion. Here's mine......
Most guys that have tuned their vehicles know that "if you play, you pay" meaning if it breaks while tuned you are responsible NOT Fords or the tuners.
Having said that I have had three F150 eco's and a SD tuned by 5tar with no issues. I run tow tunes and I tow heavy.
As far as the Ranger engine blowing if he was dogging on it, it may have blown anyway.
If you want to tune and are scared then you have several options.
1) Stage 3 Motorsports offers a warranty on 5star tunes.

2. Ford Performance sells a tune for the Ranger 2.3 eco with a warranty. I am sure they will have a Bronco version soon if you want to go that route

I found the thread that you referred to and in fact Stage3 Motorsports took care of him as he had bought the tunes and powertrain warranty from Stage 3Nice!
