Do they still replace chips?? My tune is in a software tunner, I can tune, or return to stock in 5 minutes. Most stock tunes are in the EPROM so can be easily changed.

Well, if Ford is planning on releasing the Bronco Raptor (warthog) they may not be too inclined to offer factory tuning. However; a factory Roush Wildtrak does sound pretty cool

If I can get my bronco in the 4 sec range that would satisfy my speed thirst. Nothing like a brick flying by all those 1990 Honda civics that the kids put an exhaust on and window stickers like they are being sponsored .

I’m a bit of a speed demon myself and if the bronco can be fast as well as ass kicking offroad, in all for it ! ?

Its not the tune I'm worried about them finding... It's the bigger turbos, intercooler, down pipes, etc... haha but I also won't scam Ford if its something I caused and therfore would be covered. Gotta pay to play if you crave the power!

I still am looking for a 3.0 to bore out and modify as a drop in motor... hmm

The real question for tuning, when you get a Ford tuner and have Ford install it, it has a 3 year/36K warranty. The powertrain warranty is normally 5 year/50K. Do we lose 2 years of powertrain warranty, when we install a Ford tune, just to have it covered for 3 years? What about Ford factory extended warranties? Null and void on the extended warranties?

The 3 year/36k mile warranty replaces the powertrain warranty offered by Ford for components that would be affected by the tune/other modifications. If there is a factory defect somewhere in the powertrain that is not caused by the increase in power, it should still be covered by the 5/60 warranty. Remember, Ford cannot void your warranty without a justified reasoning, which does not include a simple "it was tuned." The Magnuson vs Moss act requires them to find a direct correlation between the modifications and the failure in order to void the warranty.

Now this is not to say that individual dealers will not try to cancel your warranty because of a pod filter... That is completely wrong and frankly illegal, but dealers are sometimes scared to warranty anything that appears to be modified at all.

1. Wrangler owner has a Jeep dealer put a new MOPAR CAI ( 1 year warranty ) on his vehicle. Wrangler throws codes in that year and it's diagnosed that the CAI is the cause of his totaled motor. Dealer and FCA says no warranty for you.

2. Guy puts a catch can on his new vehicle a few weeks later, the car throws codes. Oil pump failure or something like that. Catch can is determined to be the cause by the dealer. Dealer and GM voids out his warranty completely.

I can speak from first hand experience that if you go to a good Ford dealer they will not do those things to you. Ford understands that they make vehicles that people tend to modify and drive hard. I have seen several cases of GT350s that lost oil pressure on a track (track use is not covered under warranty) and Focus ST/RS that had full intakes and exhausts that had complete engine failures occur that were warrantied. Some failures that are obviously caused by aftermarket modifications still get warrantied if the dealer/customer is smart about it. Get yourself a good dealer that will advocate for you and you don't need to worry. The guys at Ford that process the warranty cancellations are mostly car enthusiasts themselves and understand.

If you end up blowing up the second engine after it was warrantied because of those modifications, they won't be so eager to help out.
