So Ford Performance can load a tune through OBD2 but no one else can? Is that what I’m hearing?

Currently, yes. The PCM is locked, so a tuner can't just connect and upload the tune. Ford wants to lock you into a solution. The S650 Mustang is going to be the same way, and I believe the F-150 is already locked.

Someone will find a way around it, it'll just take time.

Agree, same as when they said PATS couldn’t be defeated on my F150 pcm that I used on a coyote swap.

I called them about this last week. The time frame has been pushed out until the end of the year. It’s not a 5Star thing, but an SCT thing.

The only place offering a custom tune is International Dyno Authority. They use other means to tune the vehicle without cracking the ECM.

No. They have custom software that interfaces with the vehicle through the OBD2 port. There’s a few other things they do, but it don’t know much about the specifics.

🤔 Not sure. I’d give them a call to see if it’s possible

I was, but now that it’s been pushed out until the end of the year I’ll probably go with IDA.
I like the fact they don’t have to flash. I’m digging my JB4 but I want more power.

The shop you posted the video on was probably under the impression that SCT Bronco compatibility would be ready soon. I wonder if they are telling their customers a different time frame as well?
