I'm unable to remove the flares from my 2023 non-Sas Bronco. I moved the levers as shown in the photo below, but the flares remain fixed to the fender. I pulled as hard as I feel comfortable doing, given the metal fender was distorting and not wanting to let go of the flare.

Something doesn't add up, because the YouTube videos I watched made pulling off the flares seem easy. But they are not letting go for me. Any advice?

I just did this for mud flaps. A couple days ago I did the driver's side, and today the passenger side. On my non-Sas OBX I rotated the levers 180 degrees. I first tried just the center position like you but it wouldn't budge, and I didn't try very hard before I went all the way the opposite direction.

And the first time they come off, it's a solid tug and a huge cracking sounds. Once you've broken your cherry on that, they come off easier.

Are you starting at the front and working toward the rear? They'll usually pop out one at a time as you work your way from one end to the other.
I did start at the front, but was not having much luck, and became concerned at how the fender was getting pulled outward without letting go of the flare. I'll have another whack at it tomorrow.

It did seem like the front most attachment point was showing some daylight, but the next in line didn't want to give at all.

When you take them off the first time it’s unnerving. Once you turn the levers you need to start at one end. For whatever reason I like to start at the end near the mud flap area on the fronts and yank on them. On the rears I start towards the front. If you look under neat the push tabs are really tight the first time off. You can’t pull from the middle of the arch the first time you take them off. I went through the same thing. Once I figured out the yank to pop on one end it works every Time. I was over thinking it. My buddy came over with his new Bronco bc he was struggling with it to install mud flaps. You should have seen his face when I yanked them off! LOL

Thanks all for giving me the courage. I took mine off for the first time today to install mudflaps. It's like the comments before, lefty loosy 180 degrees. Sharply pull on one end harder then you would think. It does make a lot of noise, but no harm done. Install in reverse order, snap in place, righty tighty 180 degrees to lock it in.

Hi,

I removed my front fender flares yesterday to install uag mudflap and it was a disaster.
i watched a few videos on how to r3move the fender… and did the same but one lever wasn’t enough released.. I pull the body around the fixation and chip the paint. I am wondering how to get it fixed. inattached some pictures.

if I r3install the fender it make a gap.

also the IAG fixing plates that they provide for the front where so weak that they collapsed at 7 nw, they were saying to us3 10nw. It unlarged the pin hole and also chip the paint….
I one really concerned about the salt (live in the salt belt) any advis3 how to fix it are welcome

thanks

I was thinking of using a clamp with two pieces of Teflon and some cardboard placed between the body panel and the Teflon. This would allow a slow and even pressure to bring the metal back to its original shape.

Afterwards, I planned to touch up the paint using touch-up pens and possibly apply a small amount of brown grease to help prevent corrosion. What do you think?

I should probably do the same at the second location where the iag front Mudflap support supports were supposed to be installed.

I’ll post a photo later showing how the threaded rods deformed and enlarged the mounting holes in the body bracket.

I point on iag picture the part that was weak and colapse before the 10nw they said to apply.
