Bigfoot, also commonly referred to as Sasquatch, in Canadian and American folklore, is an SUV-like vehicle that is purported to inhabit the forests and streets of North America. Supposed evidence of the existence of Sasquatch is based on a number of anecdotal visual sightings, disputed video and audio recordings, photographs, casts of large tire prints, etc. Some of these are speculated or known to be hoaxes. such as Bronco events at the Ford Dealer. Bigfoot has become an icon within the fringe subculture of Americana and an enduring element of the off road community.
Folklorists trace the figure of Bigfoot to a combination of factors and sources, including Youtube videos and internet sites alleging their existence. The majority of mainstream automotive engineers have historically discounted the existence of Sasquatch aka Ford Bronco, considering it to be the result of a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than an actual SUV.
