Farley has been Ford CEO for a little over a year. Looking at his previous jobs, the operations and supply chain issues with Bronco had little to do with his decisions.

The dealership issue is baggage that has been going on forever. If Ford is serious about a Customized To Order business model, then they need to rethink the role that their dealerships play. The catch is that these dealers have large financial stakes in their franchises and enable Ford to shift billions of dollars of inventory off Ford's books to theirs. So the dealers have a say.
