They aren’t shipping them here. They are built for the Asian market. A lot of Asian/Southeast Asian countries have high tariffs (as much as 100% the value of the item) for imports from the US. It forces companies to manufacture in the region to be competitive in the market. It’s a tactic to boost their own economy.

Honestly I would rather have a Model Y from Giga Shanghai over Fremont right now. Shanghai is a world class factory/newer gen paint shop. Once Giga Austin and Berlin comes online next month that should further surpass China .
