Do you know if it's possible to get a new oring? Thinking of getting the FP kit, as your photo shows promise that it's capturing something that I'd rather not have spread into my intake tract.
Shouldn't need one as it is a reusable gasket. While I don't pull a lot out, both sides always have something in them. I'm glad I have it one there 🤠

Oil catch cans are nice if running increased boost from mapping or a module.

If running factory setup theres no real benefit... IMO 🤔

Recommend doing a search here. There have been many posts on the catch cans.

I went with the Mishimoto Dual catch cans but, there are several out there... Unscrew the cup n done. 👍👍

Don't need one as it is reusable. Having said that, I did booger up one of the hoses snap-on connectors. Individual parts not available. Had to buy the complete setup again.

After seeing this photo I finally broke down and bought my own Ford Performance Air/Oil separator for my 2.3L. I was pretty apprehensive about tearing apart the orange connectors from the old hose as I found it difficult to find information on how this connector is assembled. I wound up cutting the two spots shown and walla! The hose came off leaving the orange part behind which was easy to remove without harming the port.

Note: Have a little over 5K miles on my Bronco right now. Old hose had oil residue inside the length of the hose.

What the orange piece looks like in tact.

Good job. Very clean removal. Since Ford used a consumable hose (orange connector style), I very carefully and slowly broke the orange connectors with a pick tool. It is meant to be broken however you choose to do it. After installing the AOS system, then what I did was buy a new OEM replacement hose for less than $20. If I ever have AOS system problems, I can then return to stock configuration in a pinch. I like redundant backups. I carry 2 inner and 2 outer tie rods just in case while on the trail.

Hi guys, I have a 2024 2.3l, has anyone just added the ford performance aos and seen that it's worked? I got an email about 25% off. I seen the mishimoto is on sale too. The iag looks way too involved and it really wouldn't help me much with the ways its intended to be used. I have a 12 mile drive to my job. I have no intentions of running it hard but want to keep it for quite a while. I have tried searching and figured id breakdown and ask. Id prefer not to get two cans.
I feel the ford version would be the better option but looking for advice before I buy one in the next few days. Thanks in advance!

I have the J&L Oil Separator and the ford performance installed. The J&L collects more than the ford catch can does and is very easy to install.

With that being said, both are collecting oil/moisture and I am glad to have both installed.

The Ford Performance one will help keep the oil from going back into your intake piping and thus will keep your intercooler from getting coated in oil.

I'd get the Ford one, having runs Radium baffles and Mishimoto dirty side (agrarian at best) on my HPP Mustang those things do work and dirty side is a must for last gen 2.3 to stop the fuel dilution in the oil.

I have a FP oil catch can on my 2.3L Black Diamond. It has over 1000000 miles. There is a noticeable amount of oil (no moisture or sludge) in the catch can at oil change interval (5000 miles or less if I am leaving on a long trip). I just remove the top screws, lift the lid, and wipe it out with a rag. It seems to be doing what it is designed to do.

Last gen 4 cyl definitely throws a lot of fuel into oil.....I changed my oil every 3000 miles before putting a used Mishimoto one in..... FP is probably way more convenient.

I went with the ford air oil separator. This was a super simple install! The install took probably 30 minutes at most. It took me longer to find the tools to do the job than to actually do it. The temperature drops sunday and we will be back to normal winter temps in southern Illinois. Ill try checking the next few months and update.

Another 3k open up and have a look. About 1/32" deep black oily emissions at bottom. Also some orange white-ish residue too.

edit. The side of the screen facing down also had residue all around the black edging. Definitely caught more this time. I had already wiped it off.

What’s the recommended service interval from Ford Performance/Racing?
