Doesn't sound like you are cut out for modern cars. Buy an old car without the need for functionally important upgrades. Maybe stay away from computers and cell phones since the updates increase security and fix bugs/functionality issues ..... get a flip phone if you need to go wireless.

As the web/grid/other systems get upgraded and updates....updates are needed to other devices that work within those systems. Pretty simple really.

Also look out ..... I think someone is on your lawn. :giggle:
Funny thing is, probably not much older than you, Im 34

My old Mustang wasnt that bad, and my ‘19 Ram hardly updated either. That all said, gave in and It’ll update at 1 tonight

Anyone know how to turn the screen completely off?
I know theres "Relax Mode" - But the sccreen is still lit with some junk on there.
I just want to be able to turn it off completely.
I have a friend with a 2018 Escape, and there is a physical button that turns it off completely.

*BTW Im pro-updates
Here ya go

LOL ... Bro I WISH I was 34 .... I'm nearly 2 decades ahead of you. .... and my rusty AF Focus doesn't require updates either. My 2 cents is these things are rolling computers nowdays. The updates make sure things function as they should but aren't without problems.

I'm not that computer savvy but am OK with the tech world. Its only gonna be more of the same from here on out.

I see you at least have a sense of humor. Some people would think I was really breaking their balls when I am kidding around.

I had some old school 4x4s back in the day..... I will take modern day awesome with the associated nannies and computer stuff.

Gotta have a sense of humor, have ya met my family? It's either be sarcastic and humorous or go Crazy

I'll take the midpoint, the 90s to early 10s for tech personally, always the next toy :p Still, can't wait to mod her, turbos make easy power

Wonder how the car will be tomorrow after the updates?

Who rages over software updates? You literally don’t have to do anything and it affects nothing front facing (generally speaking) nor your experience driving the vehicle.

Some of you don’t even know it’s happened unless you see a thread like this.

The age of rage…

I set scheduled updates nightly for 1:00am. Set it and forget it.

Sounds cool, if only I could get past 3.5.2
Lol, I’m in the same boat….I went to 3.5.2 only a couple of weeks ago…locked up the screen and the FordPass app still thinks I’m on 2.3.2.

I updated again! So two updates in one week. First to 3.5.2 and now 3.5.3, so I am guessing that there is a series of updates that have to happen and not just one big major update.

I have the 12" version but no internal data package (no fordpass), is there a way to manually update it? if so, how?
