If rate increases are a concern, then hopefully you are also financially disciplined to the extent you have been saving and adding more funds to your down payment. The increase in down payment eliminates the threat of a rate increase. Also, ones Down payment , if large enough, allows for shorter loan terms. Shorter the term, the lower the rate.
If rate increases aren’t a concern, then you are not wise with your money. Every dollar in my pocket is a dollar less in someone else’s pocket. Let’s just assume I can pay for the Bronco in cash- would that be wise? Probably not. If I leave the money invested I will probably earn more than the interest rate I will be paying for the Bronco. Plus the money so invested will always be a rainy day fund if ever needed. I can always pay off the balance if needed.
so for many - whether it be paying a larger down payment or paying cash- doing so ties up their cash.
But for many who can do neither, a lower interest rate simply mean more money in their pocket to be spent on the necessities of life.

The point is if you are going to be paying $500 a month when your Bronco arrives, then saving $500 a month now during the wait increases the down payment. Increasing the down payment with money that is already earmarked to be used for a Bronco payment enables one to shop for a shorter loan term ,which is always a lower interest rate.

For many of us, we are still waiting for our Bronco to be built. For many others , theirs has been built but is sitting on a lot waiting for microchips.
It would at least be a good gesture by Ford to offer a special finance rate to those affected.
They are. It's called a higher interest rate!!!!!

The entitlement is strong with some.

Several years back it was "I think we should get a letter grade bump on today's exam since we showed up even though it is snowing outside." Now it is "I think we should get special financing rates on our vehicles since others got theirs sooner."

Don't care. I pulled out the $30k for my Bronco out of my investment portfolio over a year ago.

I want Ford to actually communicate to order holders.
Depending g on what funds you had you probably protected that 30k from a significant loss.

Yeah, I think he should be thanking ford instead of asking for another handout.

Do you think Ford is asking their suppliers to give them a discount because they aren't shipping parts to them in a timely manner?

How about a warranty extension? Might showed in production 1/18/22, so I know its been sitting outside waiting for some damn chip for almost 6 months now. Batteries don't ,like that. Rubber does not like that. No wax to protect the paint. So how about an extra year?

Actually yes. We are in the place I work. I understand it is a shitty situation for our supplier but they committed, and we paid in advance, for our items and they couldn't deliver so we are now getting discounts from them on future purchases.

I don't have any sense of entitlement, but that would be a good gesture for those that are impacted by build delays. Ford could easily say, here's $1000 in Fordpass points, you can use it towards anything, including the purchase price of the vehicle.

Say I go to a restaurant and my food takes longer than usual to come out. The manager comes over later and says, "hey, sorry about the wait, how about a free dessert?" That's good customer service, and an acknowledgement of a problem. I don't expect a manger to bring me a desert, or even come over and speak to me.

Entitled? No. Annoyed because my vehicle drew the short straw and went down the line the day they ran out of parts to complete the build? Yes. And before anyone else "educates me", I' don't need the tired old excuses everyone trots out when defending the current state of manufacturing.

If the manager brings you a dessert... great! I'm not talking about you because you aren't "asking" for a dessert. That is more of a manager just being nice with his prerogative than it is giving into the demands of an entitled customer who feels like he is "owed" that dessert.

As for Ford... I've had prices locked as well as tons of trinkets (posters, hammocks, calendars, flags, etc...) sent my way in an effort to appease me all when I never asked for any of them. They didn't even have to lock in and protect the price (I didn't ask for that), but it was nice that they did. I wouldn't presume for a second to think I'm entitled to a lower rate on top of everything else.

I went into this thinking "It will get here when it gets here... and if it still fits the budget when it arrives I'll purchase it." Ford doesn't owe me anything. It was a great experience for me (even in spite of the 640 day wait) because I had the right attitude for this type of process. I was patient, didn't change things around or settle so I would get something sooner... I had delivered exactly what I ordered and then paid exactly the price I agreed to when I ordered. Things got pushed back a couple of times... that's life... I dealt with it. I was blessed enough to not hit [insert adjective here] Mountain and had I not been blessed in that regard... again I would have dealt with it because that's life. Nobody owes me anything for my patience... my patience was to receive my Bronco... not to receive a lower price, a lower rate, freebies, handouts for my palms up, or anything else.
