My husband was installing an RV Tire Pressure Monitor and when he was putting the dash back together he found this key inside the dash had anyone come across this Mystery Key it had to have been put there or dropped in there during the build it simply couldn’t have randomly fallen in there any other way after the build

Are you the original owner? Could be from previous repair work done on the dash. Usually the dash assemblies come already assembled before it's put in the vehicle on the assembly line so it could've also been from someone at the plant that assembles sub components.

that looks like a lockout / tagout key
Came here to say that it looks just like my maintenance lockout/tagout keys.

Agreed, OEMs like to use that style of lock because the key is easier to grip with gloved hands if necessary.

Some component of OP's vehicle, either the dash or (less likely) the entire vehicle, was stopped at a portion of the assembly that needed to be locked out. When it happened someone likely dropped their key (most of these can't be removed if the lock is open) - which means they had to call security to come cut their lock off.

My brother found a gin bottle rattling around in the drivers door on his 1969 Malibu.
