Campus cops love to snag people for this - easy money for them and they deal with snotty young people (and their snotty parents) all day long so they get their kicks from it

Most of the highway cops don’t really care but it they notice and they have you over for something else can slap it on the ticket

There was a guy from Florida on here that was selling no drill plate holders. It hangs over the lip of the bumper and uses screws to clamp down. I'm not sure he is still selling them though, and I forgot his tag name, it started with HD.

I have friends that are cops. But during a traffic stop they are not your friend. They have metrics to meet just like at ur job

I live in CA and have not had a front plate since I was 17.
Never a fix it ticket yet. Lived in coastal and northern CA.

I got a fix it ticket in Texas for no front plate and the police seemed to care more about this in Austin.
Ended up doing a Show N Go plate holder on the muscle car that I had at the time.

Well, wife got pulled over for no front plate.

I have a no drill plate holder was just hoping to not have to use it.

I'm glad my local PD are focused on the important issues.

What if you are from a state that does not require a front plate and travel through a state that does? Can they pull you over?

I put this on the front. no drilling required. you could stow it in back until you drive thru a state requiring it.

You don't need a front plate unless the vehicle is registered in a state which requires it. So no need to carry one for use when driving through a 2 plate state.

I got pulled over in my wife's Lexus GX twice for no front plate in TX. Ticketed twice. Unfortunately, I had Granger put the license plate bracket on. I do believe it looks much better on the Heritage grill. The white grill makes it blend in better. If it was like a gloss black like a Wildtrak I would have gone with one of the aftermarket brackets that put it below the bumper.

Virginia does require a front plate, however I don’t run with one. Typically here police will not stop you for a missing front plate alone, but they will ticket you for it if they pull you over for a different violation. I’ve never been stopped anywhere. I suspect your wife just found a very bored cop.

I did briefly attach the front with strong magnets…. but no longer. Just didn’t like the look.

AK used to be a two-plate state. My kid got a ticket parked in his high school parking lot for not having one on his mod'd RAM 1500. Now we're a one-plate state.
More concerning is front side window tinting. AK has (tied with a few other states) the strictest tinting law at 70% and cops CAN pull you over if they suspect (have a friend that can attest to that). But same as running no front plate, 30% tints are everywhere.
Personally I don't need to give them a reason...

Live in a burb outside of Chicago and do not run with a front plate. It's a 2 plate state. Does placing it on your dashboard count? I have a DV8 bracket I can bolt on, maybe ill do that during trips...

NJ is a 2 plate state and it gives them an excuse to pull you over so it makes sense to run the front plate. I have the DV8 with the modular front bumper. My plate got a little rounded off when I took the bumper off to remove the shutters for the intercooler install.
