I had nothing but disappointment out of the OEM B&O sub for any music with bass in it - constant distortion and popping. I rented another Ford vehicle for work that had B&O and it was the exact same experience recently. Sooo…. I ripped the B&O system out, had a little bit of an upgrade put in 🙂

Zen DSP12A-A2B processor to get a clean signal without the Ford/B&O processing in the way
Gladen RC150c5 5 channel amp (90x4 + 360x1 watts RMS at 4ohms)
Mosconi 6to8 channel DSP with digital controller

Kick panel speakers Focal PS 165 FXE Flax cone 6.5” Components with tweeters in dash location, custom speaker grills with active orange accent ring

Rear pods replaced with larger pods that accept 6.5” coaxial, Focal PC 165F Flax 6.5” coax in that location

Custom full depth sub enclosure with Bronco badge, 10” Focal P25F Evo Flax cone sub - added Hammerbuilt tailgate brace

Custom window in OEM sub grill location with Ford Bronco etch

Sounds absolutely killer. Exactly what I was hoping to get out of this build. Installed at Absolutely Creative Customs in Boulder, CO

Did you have any thought to going with a three way set of fronts with the tweeters in pods on the dash, or retaining the center channel? Been playing with the idea for my months. My b&o sub vibrates so badly it feels like broken welds from outside.

I was originally thinking that, but my integrator recommended just doing the tweeters there - honestly it sounds great.

where did you get the larger pods that fit 6.5“?

Just curious, still waiting as so many others are, what would a ball park figure be for an upgrade like yours? I have a nice system in my early Bronco, old school, but sounds great, just don't want to be disappointed in the B&O.

Looks great. Also interested in who made those larger rear pods.

This one ran me a little shy of $8k

I’ve seen their site, but that page for the rear pods is blank. How much were the pods by themselves?
The integrator I used didn’t quote them individually. I’d contact MTI directly to inquire

Do you think upgrading the rear pods made a huge difference? I always heard to spend the most money on the front stage.

How are your mids at highway speeds with no 4” in the dash?

Also, how did you get the speaker channels back to the amp? Is that where Ford mounts the B&O DSP?

I'm basically doing a very similar build but without the DSP. Do you think it makes a huge difference?
