As I said in one of the other 8 million threads on this, I personally think the lawyers made Ford nix it for "safety" reasons.

And if that's the case I certainly don't blame them. The average person is a shitty enough driver as it is. Probably don't need to encourage them to stick a bunch of distractions up there. Plus whatever hazard they may or may not turn into in the event of a wreck.
One of the big selling points of the Lux package is the usb connectors on the top of the dash. Without the option for a rail, there would be no need.

Ford doesn't have to sell the rail. The aftermarket will take care of it, just like with Jeep. The USB ports are the important part

Really? I guess you've never had anything on your dash before?

Yes. I hate wires hanging down, it’s something I considered when thinking about higher packages.

My point was Ford plans on people having devices on the dash. I don’t think they are going to suddenly delete the option for having a rail. Doubt they are going to ditch the idea for safety reasons.

FYI, looks like 4WP will be creating and selling the rail for Ford

The logo is fuckin' huge and I hate that

No longer Picatinny. Is that M-LOK?
It’s basically still picatinny. The clamping edges are the same, and depending on your device you may just have to line us the cross bolt with those intermittent groves on the rail.

Not sure if I would count on it being M-LOK. That standard I believe must be licensed from Magpul, and I wouldn’t put it past 4WP to just make cutouts that look like it but wouldn’t accept it.

And yeah, that logo is pretty gaudy. I’m sure we’ll see plenty of options for that mounting hole from other companies, and worst case, it’s nothing an angle grinder and a rattle can can’t fix.

Is anyone else frustrated with all the bait and switch? When they first started dropping media the interior of the bronco looked very premium. Now it looks pretty basic.

Some pictures of the 4WP rail I’ve been playing with. Quite different than the photos from last year.

One bolt in the center, and double sided tape on the ends, and a optional mounting hole if you want to screw the ends into the dash.
Based on a Weaver rail (similar to Picatinny) and has an integrated t-slot.
I’m using a bolt in the t-slot to use a phone mount. Also only using the double sided tape, as it seems to work well enough.
