Ford changed the allocation formulas. They were originally based on how many Broncos were ordered. Granger got a pretty good 2021 allocation. They would have had plenty of allocation for 2022 to fill most orders, but Ford changed it to something completely different. They even gave people better deals to move to certain dates, "oct special", to get earlier reservation holders taken care of better. They are now trying to figure out how to increase allocations by offering specials on Bronco sports. This is all on Ford.
I get it Ford broke a lot of promises. If these few dealers that tried to work the system couldn’t see the risk they were taking then they were either ignorant or incompetent. Neither is good.
They also knew they had nothing to lose. That was always all on the order holder.

From what little I've seen about people trying it and posting here has been unsuccessful, but I will admit to no first hand knowledge ... do you know of a specific case and/or more than case where someone has a reservation and/or an order and was able to switch?
Reservations are pretty easy to get transferred, however, once they were turned into an order for 2021 or 2022, you are not able to transfer them, at least nobody has claimed they have successfully gotten Ford to facilitate it, matching your understanding of the order situation. The problem here is people are confusing reservations with orders. (gives the confusion on transferring and the confusion of the 500 plus days of waiting since 'ordering'.)

Ford is cranking the door shut on reservations and making them less valuable as time goes on to nudge people who keep reservations out. Eventually they will just outright cancel any remaining ones and blame the consumer for not having them placed at the 'proper' dealer.

actually, quite the opposite. Granger in particular is spending all kinds of money to increase their allocations, including building special showroom additions that Ford says will give them a few extra allocations (they will never get the money back from the sales with what they charge to come out ahead), so they are paying out of pocket to help the people who reserved with them. They were victims of Ford's changes as well as other small dealers

Dealerships chose their sales model to get business based on what Ford said, then Ford completely changed the rules three quarters through the game. That is on nobody but Ford. There is no rational basis to place the blame on dealers or people because they believed Ford.

Your 'logic' is like saying that next Superbowl, the NFL changes the rules in the final quarter so that total offensive yards will decide who wins the game, the final score that was the metric at the start, that no longer counts at all and somehow the teams are to blame for believing the NFL was going to keep the final score as the winning metric. That they should have anticipated the rules would change. It is ridiculous on the face of it.

Now that’s an interesting theory. And based on how things have gone, entirely possible.

Despite what some people on here think the overwhelming majority of dealers are honoring MSRP, and plenty are knowledgeable and enthusiastic on the product even if they’re not on forums. Do some research and pick a large dealer reasonably close to you to get a build at MSRP in as little as a few months or wait your turn at Granger. You can keep your granger order and place a local one too

“Work the system” ?? That’s hilarious. What part of playing by the very rules Ford laid out is “working the system”?? JFC. You were right with your first statement. Ford broke a lot of promises.

Why is it that the three or four dealerships that jumped at the opportunity to offer transparency, communication, and a competitive price to this community is castigated by so many on this forum? Many, including Zach and the @Granger Ford team made contributions to help every member here. Responding to questions for some that had shit dealers. Not once saying “You’re not with Granger, ask your dealer”

Even after all the ADM bullshit we’ve seen some of you still don’t get it.

Probably depends on local markets. 10k - 15k around here. A used moredoor just sold for 82k at a local used car only lot. Was inside for less than a week.

To the OP....Good luck. With a reservation date that late, you are almost better off just cancelling and placing an order at a dealership that has plenty of allocations that will commit to msrp. Or I like your other idea about buying an old Bronco and fixing it up. With the kind of money we are spending a coyote would be a lot of fun to drop into an old Bronco.
Been shopping local dealers all week, all want at least 10k ADM. I"ve had the 89 Bronco since it was new. She needs a full restoration, but I'm sure there would be plently left over for beer...

Sounds like @monkeyboy1317 already talked to them and they suggested moving to another dealer.

Sucks for Granger and their customers, they did a great job promoting the Bronco and offering great deals on the Bronco, but Ford moving back to a more traditional allocation formula really screwed them and the handful of other dealers that promoted amazing deals online.

As @TheWoo mentioned, if you have a reservation you wouldn't move to the back of the line. You'll get slotted into their orders based on your reservation timestamp.

BUT, if you have a 7/9/2021 order, than implies you were probably not among the first round of reservations holders. And considering there are many week 1 reservation holders that also do not have a build date, you'll probably be waiting awhile regardless of which dealer you pick.
spot on….7/9/21 order and you’re fed up? Get in line and wait behind those of us who have been waiting longer.

Depends on where you are. The two dealers in my city (who are brothers-in-law) both say MSRP, but add on a whole bunch of mandatory bullshit like the "Desert Protection Package" and other unneccessary cheap garbage. And it is not just hundreds of dollarsof add-ons, but a thousand or two.

But my biggest reason to want to buy with Granger was how honest and helpful they are. When I first reserved a Bronco with one of the two local dealers, they wouldn't give me the time of day. And the other one? They hosted the two Broncos and acted like they were annoyed so many people were in their showroom.

Ford changing the allocation formula just made a bunch of loyal Granger customers buy Jeeps while they wait.🤣🤣

I'm all about placing a new order at another dealer and leaving my old one in place to see which makes it first. Anybody know of a dealer in Georgia or Florida that will do MSRP?
Try Chatsworth Ford in GA.

Did you read about the guy that went to pick up his 57.5k Bronco and the dealer wanted 82k for it, take it or leave it. A lot of people saw that coming after Ford said xplan was no longer an option. Most dealers would not provide pricing info. I'll take ignorant over greedy any day of the week. Why would anyone even bother putting in a reservation on these terms.

I've seen those old Bronco's on the trails. They do really well.

Meanwhile a buddy of mine ordered one week ago today (12/15) no reservation for a Badlands Sasquatch with Lux and the 2.7. Got a build date and VIN already.
Thats juist bull crap @Ford, many with very early reservations have no build date in sight.
